The Client
Greater Geelong Medical Centre is a bulk-billing general practice located on Malop Street in central Geelong. The clinic offers a broad scope of services — from Chronic Disease Management, Women's, Men's and Children's Health, through to Iron Infusions, ECG & Holter Monitoring, Minor Surgical Procedures, Travel Vaccinations, Work Medicals and Pathology Services.
As a new and growing practice competing in a crowded Geelong healthcare market, the clinic needed a professional digital presence that clearly communicated its bulk-billing offer, made booking effortless, and built immediate trust with first-time patients searching on mobile.

The Challenge
Before PMGS engaged on the redesign, the clinic was operating on a generic Wix template published under a temporary subdomain (rajatecha99.wixsite.com/silvercare-clinic). The site carried an "OPENING SOON" banner, an unrelated "Silvercare Clinic" branding footprint, inconsistent typography, and no real booking system — just a static "Book an Appointment" button with no connected workflow. For a medical practice relying on local search and mobile bookings, the existing site was actively costing enquiries.
The competitive situation in the Geelong GP search is dominated by established multi-doctor clinics with polished websites, HotDoc integrations and strong local SEO signals. The Wix build had none of the technical foundation (custom domain authority, schema, performant images, clean IA) required to compete for "bulk billing GP Geelong"–style queries.
Problem Summary
- Wrong brand identity — Wix site still branded as "Silvercare Clinic" with an "OPENING SOON" banner, undermining trust for an operating practice.
- No real booking flow — static buttons, no HotDoc or online booking integration, forcing every patient onto the phone.
- No bulk-billing messaging — the clinic's strongest commercial hook ($0 out-of-pocket for private insurance holders) was invisible above the fold.

The PMGS Strategy
PMGS approached the project as a full rebuild rather than a reskin. The brief was to ship a fast, accessible, bulk-billing-led healthcare website on the client's own domain (greatergeelongmc.com.au), optimised for local Geelong search and mobile-first patient behaviour. Every design and content decision was tied back to one of three outcomes: (1) earn trust in under 3 seconds, (2) make booking frictionless, (3) give Google clear signals for local healthcare queries.
The information architecture was restructured around patient intent — a single conversion-focused homepage feeding into dedicated service pages, an About/Our Team page, and a clear Contact/Location page with NAP consistency to support local SEO. Bulk Billing was promoted to the top announcement bar ("We Are Now Bulk Billing, $0 out of pocket for private insurance holders") and reinforced in the hero alongside the phone number and a prominent gold "Book an Appointment" CTA.
Strategy Pillars
1. Brand & Identity Reset
Retired the placeholder Silvercare Clinic/Wix visual language and built a clean GGMC identity using a trust-led navy + green + gold palette, with "Expert Care For Your Health First" as the anchoring hero proposition.
2. Conversion-First Homepage
Dual primary CTAs — "Book an Appointment" (HotDoc) and "CALL 03 4232 6954" — placed in the hero, sticky header, and repeated contextually through the page so a booking action is always one tap away on mobile.
3. HotDoc Online Booking Integration
Replaced the dead Wix "Book" button with a live HotDoc flow, removing phone dependency and capturing after-hours demand that was previously being lost.
4. Service-Led IA & On-Page SEO
Built out the full service catalogue (Health Assessments, Chronic Disease Management, Women's/Men's/Children's Health, Iron Infusion, ECG & Holter Monitoring, Minor Skin & Surgical Procedures, Travel Vaccinations, Immunisation, Work Medicals, Centrelink Certificates, Pathology, etc.) with "Read More" links, giving Google indexable pages for each intent and patients a clear self-serve path.
5. Local SEO Foundation
Moved the site onto the greatergeelongmc.com.au custom domain, locked NAP consistency across the site (227 Malop St, Geelong VIC 3220 · 03 4232 6954), and structured the contact and footer data for local pack eligibility.
6. Core Web Vitals & Accessibility
Built on a lightweight stack with optimised imagery, sensible caching and a constrained DOM to deliver Good LCP and CLS on desktop out of the gate, with a clear mobile performance roadmap.
